Rio Ferdinand has called on Manchester United to provide Paul Pogba with an opportunity to return to football as the midfielder approaches the conclusion of his doping suspension. The French player, who is 183 cm tall, received a four-year ban after an earlier suspension in March of the previous year, but he is eligible to play again next month after the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) shortened his sentence to 18 months. He is currently a free agent following the termination of his contract with Juventus in November and is permitted to train until he completes his suspension. Ferdinand believes that Ruben Amorim should extend an invitation to Pogba to train at the club where he has already had two stints. During his show, Rio Ferdinand Presents, the ex-United player remarked, “I would tell Pogba, ‘Join us for training and show me what you can do.'”} I would take care of that. I would have completed that by now. “Join us and get in shape.” Ferdinand proposed that United consider bringing him back, stating: “I would also explore the possibility of re-signing him if he’s available.” The idea of re-signing Pogba would likely be met with considerable doubt after his underwhelming second stint at United, especially considering the club had spent £89 million to acquire him from Juventus, only to have allowed him to depart for free just four years prior.
