Mel C says she’s ready to go in ‘all guns blazing’ with a Spice Girls reunion, but that they have to get a wriggle on.
Next year marks 30 years since the girl band – also comprising of Emma Bunton, Mel B, Victoria Beckham and Geri Horner – first burst onto the music scene with their chart-topping debut single Wannabe and she insists they are as keen to celebrate the milestone as their fans.
The Spice Girls last toured together in 2020 as a four-piece minus Beckham.
The last time they performed with the full line up was during the opening ceremony of the London 2012 Olympics.
There have been various reports in recent years of them playing the Legends slot at Glastonbury, a Netflix series and even an animated movie, but all have come to nothing.
All good things come to those who wait however and Sport Spice says the time is now looking right.
Speaking to Rebecca Judd On Apple Music 1, the Northen Star hit-maker said: “There has to be something befitting of 30 years since Wannabe.
“Once a Spice Girl, always a Spice Girl. We all feel like that, but we now are getting together because we know if we’re going to do anything, we have to start planning things to get things right.
“We have to start making the plans right now and putting them into action. So fingers crossed.”
She did however admit that some were likely to be keener than others, adding: “I think me and Mel B are probably going to be going in there all guns blazing, ‘Come on! It’s time!’”
Last year, Mel B confirmed that she’d be up for hitting the road with her bandmates.
Appearing on the Sidetracked podcast, Scary Spice explained:”‘I’d love to get back on stage with the girls but everybody wants to do something a little bit different or in a different way, so it’s just trying to get everyone on the same page at the same time.”
Adding: “I’d be there next week.”
