Reports suggest that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s Besiktas is looking to acquire Manchester United midfielder Casemiro as Turkish teams remain active in the winter transfer market. Since the arrival of Ruben Amorim at Manchester United in November, the Brazilian midfielder has only featured in four Premier League matches. In the January transfer window, there was a lot of speculation about his potential move to Saudi Arabia, with reports suggesting that Cristiano Ronaldo advised Al-Nassr to acquire his ex-teammate. Nevertheless, Al-Nassr chose to invest in Jhon Duran, the now-former striker from Aston Villa, which left Casemiro looking for a new chance. Many leagues in Europe have closed their transfer windows, leading the Brazilian international to face the likelihood of being a benchwarmer until next summer. Meanwhile, the Turkish transfer window is still open until February 11, and reports from Fotomac suggest that Besiktas is interested in signing Casemiro. Currently the highest paid player at United, Casemiro may be considered for transfer, yet it is uncertain if he would opt for a move to Turkey. Solskjaer was directly questioned about his interest in acquiring either Casemiro or Marcus Rashford in January, and his answer made his intentions clear. “Having come from Manchester United, it’s expected to see transfer news like this,” stated the former United manager and forward. Additionally, it has been reported that Manchester United midfielder Casemiro is rumored to be moving to Turkey. (Picture: Robbie Jay Barratt – AMA/Getty Images). Although Casemiro and Rashford are excellent players, I haven’t been in touch with them. I had a great experience at Manchester United. “That part is over.”
