The four-part culinary show first aired in 2023 and invites viewers inside the nail-bitingly tense atmosphere of a high-class London restaurant.
It stars Stephen Graham as Andy Jones, who had a heart attack and lost his restaurant, and Vinette Robinson as Carly, the head chef of the restaurant Point North.
The drama is the sequel to the 2021 independent film directed by Philip Barantini of the same name.
“It’s not often a drama gets such love from viewers and critics but Boiling Point was such a rarity the team has been left disappointed that there’s no news on a second series,” a source told The Sun.
The insider added: “The fact is there’s still an appetite for more, it’s just making that happen.”
There is reportedly still “every chance” the show could be revived in the future.
“Boiling Point is on the shelf, so to speak, but if the right story or idea comes along then there’s every chance it could be back on screens one day,” the source said.
The Standard has contacted the BBC for comment.
The highly-paced chef drama has had an incredible reception online, garnering an incredible 100 per cent score on Rotten Tomatoes.
The Standard said in its review: “Boiling Point gives us just a taste of the anxiety and the adrenaline of this world. It’s an extraordinary peek behind the kitchen door, and an uncomfortable one.”
The Guardian called the show “British TV at its finest”, while the Irish Independent said it was “worth every stomach-clenching, nail-biting moment of your time”.

One fan wrote online: “Fabulous sequel to the short film. Intense and captivating. The characters’ passion about food is so realistic. Excellent casting. More please.”
Another added: “Cut throat life of working in a restaurant. Brilliant drama. Interwoven stories of a desperate bunch of people trying to make ends meet and keep their lives on track.”
The first series of the show, which also stars Izuka Hoyle, Hannah Walters, and Áine Rose Daly, ended with Carly accepting a wedding booking in a bid to improve the restaurant’s finances.
The lead star Graham will appear in the four-part crime drama Adolescence, directed by Barantini, which drops on Netflix next month.
He plays Eddie Miller, a father whose 13-year-old son(Owen Cooper) is arrested for the murder of a teenage girl who goes to his school.
