Oleksandr Usyk next fight decided as double decision made in retirement verdict

World champion boxer Oleksandr Usykbelieves he has only two more fights in his career and is looking to take on the winner of Daniel Dubois vs Joseph Parker next.. The 38-year-old beat Wythenshawe-born Tyson Fury by decision in December’s heavyweight rematch to retain the unified WBC, WBA and WBO championships. It came after he won the first fight against Fury last May, which saw him win all four of the major heavyweight titles.. Usyk remains an unbeaten world champion after going undisputed at both heavyweight and cruiserweight. There has been some speculation that he may not have the stomach for another heavyweight fight and may follow Fury into hanging up his gloves.. But Usyk appears to have put any talk of imminent retirement to bed, confirming that his next fight is set to be against either Britain’s Dubois or Parker. The pair will fight on February 22 for the IBF title, with Usyk declaring he will take on the winner.. “I will fight who will win, Joseph Parker, Daniel Dubois, no problem,” he told Sky Sports.. He added: “I think two years, one and a half [left in boxing]. I feel great myself. I feel I have two fights to prepare [for], not more. Just two.”. Dubois took on Usyk for the unified heavyweight championship in 2023.. Although he was knocked out in the ninth round, there were moments when he had Usyk on the ropes.. The London-born boxer believes he has grown as a fighter and is eager for an opportunity to redeem his defeat to Usyk.. “I’m just getting better, improving,” he said. “They say when you win a world title you improve.. “So I feel like that’s what’s happening with me. I’m ready to show what I can do again and conquer whoever they put in front of me. “We’ve all got to grow up sometime,” he added. “Run it back.. “My next fight I’m working towards [is Usyk after Parker], I’m ready for it now.”
