Coleen and Wayne Rooney are making sure to get in some family time in now he has been relinquished of his duties as manager of football team Plymouth Argyle.
The former England captain, 39, left after just seven months in charge of the Championship club, with them confirming on New Year’s Eve that they had mutually agreed to part ways.
Instead of moping at home, he and his I’m A Celebrity runner-up other half, 38, who share four children together, headed to Disneyland Paris with their two youngest Kit, nine, and Cass, six, for a weekend of fun.
The family checked into the five-star Disneyland Hotel on arrival and explored the resort’s iconic parks. They were also among the first guests to experience the venue’s new night time show, Disney Tales of Magic, which recently made its debut.
They shared a number of snaps from their time at the French equivalent of the happiest place of earth, including one that saw Wayne in-particular seemed thrilled at getting the chance to meet the main mouse himself, Mickey.
He looked a little bit more apprehensive however when it came to riding Hyperspace Mountain rollercoaster and could be seen clinging to the bars in fear while Coleen playfully threw her hands up and poked out her tongue behind him.
The trip also served as an early birthday celebration for Cass, who turns seven on February 15. The youngster was presented with a special Mickey Mouse-shaped cake while enjoying the character dining at the Royal Banquet restaurant.
Reflecting on their adventure, Coleen said: “The moment we arrive, the excitement kicks in instantly. You can’t help but smile – the music, the sights, the whole atmosphere just brings that childhood magic rushing back.
“Every time we come, there’s something new to experience, whether it’s a new show, attraction, or just seeing the kids fall in love with the magic all over again. It never loses its sparkle.”
When asked who gets the most excited about their Disney visits, the self-confessed Disney adult joked: “Oh, it’s definitely a close call, but I’d have to say we get just as excited as the kids.
“As soon as we arrived, we were already talking about which attractions to hit first.”
