Little Mix sent fans into a frenzy on Tuesday by sharing their first Instagram post in two years, sparking hopes of a reunion.

The group, which includes Jade Thirlwall, Perrie Edwards, and Leigh-Anne Pinnock, went on hiatus after finishing their Confetti tour in May 2022.

Fans were quick to jump to conclusions, thinking the post might be an announcement of the band’s comeback.

However, they were left disappointed when the post turned out to be a call for fans to vote for Jade, who received two Brit Award nominations; Song Of The Year for her debut single Angel Of My Dreams, as well as for Pop Act, a category voted on by fans.

The post featured a short video showcasing Jade’s solo career, with the message: “Calling all Mixers….”

Fans flooded the comments, joking they nearly had a “heart attack” from the post notification, only to realise it wasn’t the reunion they’d hoped for.

One fan wrote: “I had a heart attack thinking the reunion was coming”.

“Gonna need a minute to recover from this post notification,” another penned. A third added: “Stop I thought it was an announcement”.

A fourth said: “Ffs the way my heart jumped when I saw LM had posted. Obvs happy for all solo careers but I miss LM SO MUCH.”

“Thought y’all were announcing a tour or sum like damn,” another echoed. A fifth shared: “My heart actually sank seeing this omg.”

While another warned: “Don’t do that to me, don’t get my hopes up.”

Amid the fan hysteria, both Jade’s former bandmates, Edwards and Pinnock, showed their support for their pal.

“Get voting peopleeeeeeee! Vote vote VOTEEEEEEEE,” wrote Edwards while Pinnock commented: “Let’s get it for our girl!!!!” alongside a green heart emoji.

Jade released her debut single in July last year, which reached number seven on the UK Singles Chart. Little Mix was originally a four-piece before Jesy Nelson left the group in 2020.

The post came after Pinnock shared snaps from a luxury, star-studded ski holiday in Courchevel, where she stayed at the £25k-a-night Six Senses Residences Courchevel.

There, the My Love singer, who donned Alo during the trip, partied on the slopes with showbiz friends like Michael Ward, Ella Eyre, Vanessa White, and Jordan Hames.

The group took to social media to document the exclusive trip which included a private mountain-side party hosted by PATRÓN EL ALTO.
