Casemiro still has Manchester United transfer exit hope after fresh blow

Casemiro’s future at Manchester United continues to be speculated following interest during the January transfer window.. From being linked with a return to Brazil to the likes of AS Roma and Al Nassr, Casemiro stayed at Old Trafford past the deadline in Italy and Saudi Arabia respectively. In the last few weeks, there was also interest from Turkey with Besiktas emerging as a potential destination.. However, that move will no longer come to fruition after the window slammed shut on Tuesday this week. However, it remains open in Brazil until February 28 and Flamengo have been keeping tabs on Casemiro, who has fallen out of favour under Ruben Amorim this season.. Brazilian journalist Jorge Nicola has claimed there is a possibility the 32-year-old could leave United before the end of the month. It has been suggested that United are open to letting Casemiro leave on a temporary basis for regular game time.. But a potential stumbling block for clubs could be his wages with Flamengo thought to be willing to sign Casemiro on loan, but only if the Reds fund the bulk of the midfielder’s wages.. He has made just eight appearances for United since Amorim was appointed at the start of November – featuring 24 times across the whole campaign so far. Amorim has insisted that Casemiro’s lack of game time is simply due to ‘selection.’. He said: “We know that Casemiro nowadays has other qualities. He’s intelligent, understands the game and knows where the ball is going to be. But, we are in a league where there is a big intensity difference.. “Therefore I feel our team needs players with high intensity and sometimes we don’t have them. We all know Casemiro’s qualities and everything he has won, so I have nothing to add to that. It’s just a selection choice.”
