ITV has nabbed a broadcast deal for the live airing of LIV Golf’s 2025 season in the UK, showcasing the Saudi-backed golf circuit. The broadcaster will initiate its free-to-air coverage with Riyadh’s second-round opener today, proceeding to air 41 rounds from 14 tournaments on ITVX, whilst also broadcasting select rounds on ITV1 and ITV4, complemented by a regular highlights programme on ITV4.. The action tees off at 2:30pm UK time today (Friday, February 7).. This deal marks a significant step following an agreement secured with Fox Sports in the US and sets up LIV Golf as the premier free-to-view golf tour across the UK. Niall Sloane, Director of ITV Sport, shared his excitement about the upcoming season: “This is an exciting time for LIV Golf as we look ahead to the innovative 2025 season.”. Thrilled about the new partnership, Sloane expressed: “This partnership delivers free-to-air coverage for fans in the UK and we are delighted to welcome LIV Golf to ITV Sport.”. The announcement trails a recent breakthrough wherein the US Open became the first major championship to grant a direct exemption to a LIV player based on their league’s standings. From May 19, the top LIV player ranked within the leading trio – provided they’re not already exempt – will earn a berth at Oakmont for the US Open, which takes place June 12-15, as per reporting by the Express.. LIV Golf has managed to attract some of the world’s top golfers away from the competing PGA Tour to its breakaway league. This includes former world No. 1 Jon Rahm, Major champions Cameron Smith and Bryson DeChambeau, as well as European Ryder Cup stars Ian Poulter and Sergio Garcia, among others. The global tour currently hosts one event in the UK, which this year is scheduled for July 25-27 at the JCB Golf and Country Club.
