Ruben Amorim already knows his final plan for Marcus Rashford at Manchester United

Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim had little time for questions about Marcus Rashford when they were first pitched at his latest pre-match press conference.. “Marcus is in Birmingham now with Unai [Emery], so you can take those questions this month to another coach. We’re just focused on our players,” he told reporters in a cutting manner.. However, after getting himself into “trouble” already with comments about the current squad being the “worst team in United history”, Amorim wisely gave a more thought-provoking answer when the topic of Rashford resurfaced. “That is, of course, you as a journalist or a fan, can take this in the way that you want, you can take whatever way you want,” he went on.. “What I say is I couldn’t [get] Marcus to see the way you’re supposed to play football and to train the way I see it. And sometimes you have one player who is really good with one coach – and the same player with another coach is different.. “I just wish the best to Rashford and to Unai – and they can connect because he’s a very good player. Let’s focus on the case, the case was some of the guys don’t adapt the way I see football, the other guys adapt, and we are trying to build the team.”. When asked if Rashford had voiced reservations about the Amorim-way, the former Sporting CP head coach replied: “It’s not the way that occurs, it’s something that you feel, as a coach and a player. It’s quite normal – it happened with a lot of coaches.. “The important thing is that I’m here saying that it was my decision. And Tyrell [Malacia] and Antony, it was my decision to do these loans and to keep some players even without any transfers.. Undoubtedly, Amorim was being earnest when he suggested that some players don’t suit a certain manager, and their style. But he will also be fully aware that Rashford has had issues with a number of different managers during his stint at Old Trafford and the incumbent had little time to see if he could change his ways.. The fact that the likes of Antony were given a chance when Amorim clearly thought they would be better off not in the team, and Rashford wasn’t, suggests there is little going back now. Whether he moves to Villa permanently, Barcelona or somewhere else, the only guarantee is that his future does not lie in Manchester.. Try MUFC Pro NOW for free.
