Ricky Gervais has been teased by fans after sharing photos of his “posh” cat Pickle at his £14.5million mansion in Hampstead, north London.
The Office star, 63, posted a snap of his sweet tabby sitting in the middle of an imposing dark wood table flanked by two ornate throne-style chairs and a set of cream upholstered chairs in the dining room.
Behind his cute pet were two large windows dressed with decadent curtains, a fireplace, a gold mirror, and an antique drinks cabinet
He shared the photo on Instagram on Sunday, captioning it: “New centre piece for the dining room.”
Fans couldn’t resist poking fun at the comedian over his cat’s lavish lifestyle, with one joking: “Okay so your cat is rich, we get it.”
“Common cats have scratching posts, posh cats like Pickle have a huge table,” another teased, and a third posted: “The king of his domain.”
After Life star Gervais also posted a snap of Pickle – who he adopted from a rescue shelter in 2020 – lying on a grey chair.
“Nice throne Pickle,” one fan commented, as another added: “Pickle gets her own chair in the new house!”
Others praised animal lover Gervais’ cat, writing, “She is the cutest thing!” and, “I love Pickle what a beautiful cat.”
Gervais and his longtime partner, Jane Fallon, 64, initially wanted to foster Pickle during the coronavirus lockdown seven months after their previous cat, Ollie, died aged 16 in March 2020.
However, the couple fell in love with the rescue animal and decided to look after her permanently.
Gervais bought his sprawling north London property – which has nine bedrooms, a spa, and its own gym – in March last year.
They also have a riverside home in Marlow, Bucks, and two apartments in New York.
Last summer, Gervais admitted their newest Hamptead mansion is unlikely to be their “forever home” because Fallon doesn’t think the property will be practical when they’re older.
“I thought the last house was the one I was going to die in,” he said in a vlog posted on X in August.
“But I didn’t die and I wanted a tennis court so we had to move to a bigger house with a bigger garden just so we could get a tennis court and I just thought this is amazing, this is perfect. It’s not even finished yet but I love it.
“But the other day, Jane went, ‘We can’t live here when we’re 80.’ So that’s like a ticking clock. She said, ‘There’s all these stairs.’ So I’m going to be moving when I’m 80.’
He added: “But I said, ‘Let’s not move let’s just move in a load of doctors, nurses and security.’
“I could have a team living inside. A driver, someone who I could play table tennis with, so that would be better. Moving at 80 with all this s*** again. I don’t want to think about it. Jane did most of it anyway.”
Gervais previously explained that part of their decision to buy the new house was that he wanted a bigger garden which he could build a tennis court in.
