‘I hope so’ – club hopeful of signing Manchester United players

FC Lausanne-Sport, owned by Sir Jim Ratcliffe, is open to the possibility of acquiring Manchester United players on loan, as confirmed by sporting director Stephane Henchoz. In October, United sent young players Jack Kingdon, Habeeb Ogunneye, and Ethan Williams to the Swiss club, allowing them to train with the first team. Lausanne was believed to be pleased with the outcome of the trial period after coming to an agreement with United to allow some of the Reds’ young players to join them. Since 2017, the Swiss club has been under Ineos’ ownership, and the partnership with United to provide academy players with international experience is an advantage of their multi-club approach. As the January transfer window is now active, Henchoz has expressed his desire for United to view Lausanne as a potential destination for players who could gain from a loan. “I hope so,” Henchoz stated to Blick. The English team can also gain advantages. A group of skilled Red Devils players practiced with us for a week, along with a delegation from Manchester. They were pleasantly surprised by our efforts. Regardless, Lausanne could be a choice for Manchester United players who still need to develop. After acquiring a minority stake in United last year, most of Ineos’ and Ratcliffe’s efforts have focused on addressing issues at Old Trafford and laying the groundwork for the club’s future.
