Manchester United striker Marcus Rashford has refuted claims that he is in talks with an agency to facilitate a transfer this month. The 27-year-old stated two weeks ago that he is prepared for “a new challenge and the next steps” away from United, just two days after being excluded from the squad for their derby win against City. Rashford may be on the verge of leaving the club, as the winter transfer window is open until February 3. Rashford, who is represented by his brother Dwaine Maynard, took to his Instagram account to dismiss claims that he had spoken with the Stellar agency. In an Instagram Story, Rashford stated: “There have been many false stories in the past few weeks, but this is getting out of hand – I have never met with any agency and have no plans to do so.” Stellar represents Kobbie Mainoo, a teammate of Rashford, and also counts Jack Grealish, Ivan Toney, and Eduardo Camavinga among their clients. Since his interview with Henry Winter at Button Lane Primary School on December 17, Rashford has mostly remained quiet, except for sharing his visit to Button Lane and wishing his followers a Merry Christmas and a happy new year in three different Instagram posts. Maynard, who runs DN May Sports Management, had to close their X account after mistakenly posting something meant for Rashford’s personal profile. United coach Ruben Amorim included Rashford in the matchday squad for the 2-0 loss against Newcastle on Monday, but he remained an unused substitute. Rashford signed a £325,000-a-week, five-year contract with United in July 2023 but has only scored 15 goals for the club since then, and tensions had already begun to rise between him and the fans long before his derby day omission.
