Jamie Redknapp has criticised Marcus Rashford for “walking around like it’s a bit of fun” in the first half of Manchester United’s visit to Brentford.. United were frustrated in attack while Brentford fired in 14 shots during the first period – the second time they amassed such an amount since being promoted to the Premier League. Speaking at half-time on Sky Sports, Redknapp said: “I think Man United fans would have been really looking forward to tonight. On the back of a brilliant result against Liverpool, they could turn their season around.. “They have been so bad tonight, I cannot believe the lack of effort, spark and desire to win individual battles to make things happen. I’m watching Rashford. He’s walking around like it’s a bit of fun out there.. “It’s the Premier League, you have got to try and win games. We have been amazed at how poor United have been.”. United barely mustered four efforts on target in the first period with Rasmus Hojlund nor Alejandro Garnacho barely getting a sight on goal. Rashford was equally as ineffective, having been given just 15 minutes for England across their two friendlies during the international break.. There are reports that the attacker – who finished as his country’s joint top-scorer at the 2022 World Cup with three goals – is at risk of losing his squad spot for Euro 2024.. There have also been tentative suggestions he could be the subject of interest from Paris Saint-Germain this summer, should Kylian Mbappe indeed leave the club.. Rashford enjoyed his most prolific season last term with 30 goals for United, but may struggle to tally half of that this campaign.
