Manchester United came away from another weekend of Premier League action with more questions than answers after they drew 2-2 with Everton on Saturday.. After losing to Tottenham last time out, Ruben Amorim’s men were no better at Goodison Park this weekend and were fortunate to come away from Merseyside with a point. A calamity of errors in the first-half was followed by two fantastic strikes from Bruno Fernandes and Manuel Ugarte to rescue a point.. More bad performances played out for the Reds as they remain 15th in the Premier League table. It’s added further reason to strengthen the squad in the summer transfer window, and the rumour mill has produced some interesting rumours. Here, we take a look at the latest stories and United’s transfer interest.. Double swoop. Talk of throwing millions at new players is something that remains a long-shot with PSR continuing to present issues for the football club. It means that the recruitment team may have to utilise the free market and according to reports, a double swoop is being considered.. Spanish outlet Fichajes have claimed that United are working on deals to bring Jonathan David and Angel Gomes to Old Trafford for nothing when their contracts at Lille expire. Both players have been linked with moves to the Red Devils for some time and they are set to be on the move in the summer.. The report states how the Reds are looking at the appealing options in the free market and are ‘looking to get ahead of the competition’ for David, who is wanted by the likes of Barcelona and Arsenal.. MEN Sport says: “If Jonathan David and Angel Gomes moved to Man United in the summer, it would be a double deal that makes perfect sense. One improves Amorim’s attacking option while the other is versatile enough to play in different positions.. “Amid the concerns of PSR and how much money will be available at the end of the season, signing two top-tier players on free transfers would be great deals. And if United don’t get there first, Europe’s top teams will swoop in.. “David is a prolific goalscorer and Gomes, being an ex-United player, has a point to prove after reviving his career.”. £828m transfer eyed. There is always speculation linking United with a huge transfer and this is the latest. According to Fichajes, United are eyeing a move for Barcelona wing-back Alejandro Balde. The only problem? He has a release clause worth €1billion (£828m).. The report claims that it would take a ‘considerable financial effort’ to sign the Spain international with Hansi Flick keen to keep the versatile wing-back. However, the ‘delicate’ financial situation at Barca could force them to sell one of their better players.. Of course, activating his release clause is impossible. United are unlikely to spend 10% of that in the summer without any huge exits themselves. But Balde could be a great option in Amorim’s system.. MEN Sport says: “£828m?! If you didn’t know before, clubs in Spain are required to insert release clauses into every player contract. It’s like no other country and sometimes, like with Balde, it’s laughable.. “That release clause has just been put in place as a message that he’s not for sale. However, with the continued financial struggles at the Nou Camp that are so well-documented, every player will have a price.. “Whether or not he’s the type of profile needed for the Amorim system, is a question for the club.”
