Erling Haaland tantrum footage emerges after Man City let him down vs Real Madrid

Footage of Erling Haaland’s angry reaction to Real Madrid’s winner over Manchester City has emerged from Tuesday night’s Champions League defeat.. City blew a 2-1 lead with five minutes remaining in the first leg of their knock-out play-off at the Etihad, handing Madrid a goal advantage heading into next week’s clash at the Bernabeu.. Haaland had scored twice to give City a huge chance to take a lead to the Spanish capital, but Brahim Diaz and then Jude Bellingham scored late to make Real clear favourites to reach the last-16.. And the sight of his former teammate Bellingham sliding in after another defensive calamity prompted Haaland to react furiously in the centre circle as he began to pace in a circle, looking at his teammates at the back and swearing to himself.. According to new footage from City’s ‘Pit Cam’ feature, Haaland picked up the ball when it was returned to the centre circle, and then turned his attention to one particular teammate out of shot with some choice words.. He then turns back twice with more frustrated shouts, before placing the ball on its spot and walking away. At full-time, he offered some brief handshakes to a small number of Madrid players including Bellingham, Rodrygo and Kylian Mbappe, before heading straight down the tunnel – cutting off Rico Lewis as the first player back in the dressing room.. John Stones described the dressing room atmosphere as ‘angry and upset’, and Haaland was furious when he left the Etihad around an hour later as he declined a post-match interview with a forceful ‘no’.. Stones added: “Individually, we’ve got to recognise certain situations in these big games – maybe to slow the game down or go more direct. We’ve got a lot of experience in the dressing room. We’ve let two situations get on top of us today from simple things that we’re used to doing. We have to find the solution fast and put it right.. “The initial feeling is hurt and anger. Once we’ve reviewed it, digested it and we’ve seen the game clearer we’ll have a better picture and better vision for going forward. We have to be very self-critical and maybe have some tough discussions between us and try and put things right.. “I definitely believe we can do it – we’ve done it in the past and we have to have all the belief. We’re not out of it. I believe we’ve got everything in the dressing room to go there and get a result. We’ve got a bit of a hill to climb – I wouldn’t say a mountain – and we’re more than capable of doing that. We want to go out there, put on a show and in eight days we’ve got to do that.”
