To say that Gordon Ramsay didn’t approve of his daughter Tilly dating fellow TV chef Gino D’Acampo’s son Luciano is an understatement.
Ramsay’s reaction to their offspring’s romance has resurfaced following reports that he is “no longer on speaking terms” with D’Acampo and himself raised concerns about the Italian cooking star’s behaviour two years ago.
Tilly and Luciano were first linked in 2019 after meeting through their famous fathers. At the time, Gordon and Gino were filming their ITV series Gordon, Gino and Fred: Road Trip alongside Fred Sirieix.
Dad-of-six Ramsay made no attempt to hide his displeasure about this union, calling it his “worst nightmare”.
The discovery came over a FaceTime call while the chefs were filming their Road Trip show in Mexico.
D’Acampo rang his then-18-year-old, who revealed he was having dinner with Tilly, who was also 18 at the time.
“Do you know who I’m with?” Luciano teased his dad, before turn the camera around to show Tilly.
Ramsay immeadiately chimed in, demanding: “What the hell? Tilly! What are you doing, Matilda?!”
“We’re on a date. We’ve gone for dinner,” the former Strictly Come Dancing star replied, laughing that she “forgot” to tell him.
Their co-star Sirieix then did little to placate Ramsay by telling the love birds: “Guys, remember it’s okay to kiss on the first date. If you feel the urge you’ve got to do it.”
“My worst nightmare has come true. I’m going to be sick,” Ramsay replied with his head in his hands.
He reiterated his feelings when a guest on The Jonathan Ross show, calling it a “f***ing nightmare”.
While Tilly and Luciano never went official with their romance, D’Acampo enjoyed ribbing Ramsay about it afterwards.
During one appearance on ITV’s This Morning, he told Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby that he took great pleasure in seeing Ramsay’s frustration. He said: “It’s a great pleasure to know that my son is dating Gordon’s daughter. Just to annoy him, just to really annoy him.”
