Harry Kane gives two-word transfer response amid £54m Man United move links

Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane replied ‘no comment’ after being asked about the reported release clause in his contract that could see him return to the Premier League.. Kane moved to the Bundesliga side in 2023 for a club-record deal worth around £82million. Manchester United were keen on signing the striker in the same summer but opted to pay £72m for Rasmus Hojlund.. Reports have claimed that a Premier League club could have had the opportunity to trigger a clause in his contract that would have seen him leave the Allianz Arena for £67m in January. German publication BILD have since stated that next January, that fee will drop to £54m.. Kane is contracted to Bayern until 2027 and is showing no signs of wanting a move away yet. However, in 12 months time, the situation may change and United are likely to be one of the teams considering a move for the centre-forward.. On Friday night, Kane was in action for the first time since the January transfer window closed. The England international scored two goals to make it 28 from 28 appearances this season as they stretched their lead at the top of the Bundesliga with a 3-0 win over Werder Bremen.. After the game, Kane was asked about the recent transfer speculation and the reported clause in his contract. “What I can say is that I’m very happy at FC Bayern,” he told Sky Sports Germany. “No comment on the clause.”. A return to England will remain a tempting proposition for Kane with Alan Shearer’s all-time goalscoring record within reach. The former Tottenham forward is just 47 behind Shearer’s tally..
