‘In one month’ – Pep Guardiola drops huge 115 charges hint with Man City boss relishing fallout

Pep Guardiola expects the verdict on Manchester City’s charges in the next month – and he can’t wait to talk about it.. The City manager has held his tongue in the two years since the Premier League accused the champions of more than 100 breaches of the competition rules. The two organisations have since both presented their cases to a private arbitration hearing in a case that could immediately change the landscape of English football.. Guardiola has defended the club from the start, insisting that he would remain in charge even if they were expelled down the divisions. He has also insisted that any opinions on the hearing be saved until after the facts have been established.. That request hasn’t been listened to, with the charges a regular talking point within football and every move City make scrutinised in that context. In the summer when they only brought in Savinho and Ilkay Gundogan some speculated the club could be saving their money in case the hearing did not go down well, and many of those same people have now wondered aloud if the £180m spend in January has been done in anticipation of a transfer embargo.. Unsurprisingly, Guardiola did not agree with the theory and is looking forward to being able to have his say on everything that has been said about the club in this time. City’s manager does not think he will have long to wait.. “In one month I think there will be a verdict and a sentence and after we will see my opinion of what happened so far,” he said. “Still, at the end, every club can do whatever they want.. “Because in the last 10 years we are third [for net spend], but in the last five even with what we won we are behind the top six teams so I’m sorry for the comments and that is why I don’t agree.. “In the last five years, we are the last team in the top six for net spend. Even after what we have spent in this transfer window, we are away from Chelsea, United, Arsenal, Tottenham.. “Even from Liverpool. The only reason why is we sell a lot in the last seasons but even with that I know this club, it is always ‘just about the money.'”
