Ruud van Nistelrooy has announced that promising young players Jake Evans and Jeremy Monga will join the Leicester City squad for their match against Manchester United on Friday night. The Foxes are heading to Old Trafford for the FA Cup fourth round, aiming to break a poor streak of results. Van Nistelrooy’s team has suffered EIGHT losses in their last 10 games in all competitions. The most recent setback was a disheartening 4-0 defeat to Everton on Saturday, further fueling the frustration of Leicester fans during what has been a disappointing season. Currently in 18th place and in the relegation zone, they have only achieved a handful of wins in the Premier League this season. Although the FA Cup isn’t a primary focus for Leicester, Van Nistelrooy is keen to improve their situation and secure a victory against his former team. To achieve this goal, the Dutch coach has selected two promising academy talents to join his Foxes team in their match against United. “The FA Cup is a great opportunity to incorporate young talents into my squad, including a 15-year-old and a player from the 2003 birth year,” Van Nistelrooy mentioned during his press conference. “They will be included in the squad and will sit on the bench for tomorrow’s game. This is a moment where such opportunities can arise for players.” They possess names! The 15-year-old is Jeremy Monga and the 16-year-old is Jakes Evans. “As soon as I arrived from the Netherlands, a country known for nurturing players who move on to larger leagues, I noticed a distinct difference.” During my tenure at PSV, I really enjoyed being involved in the growth of players like Cody Gakpo, Noni Madueke, Xavi Simons, Jarrod Branthwaite, Johan Bakayoko, and Ismael Saibari. As a manager, it’s wonderful to work with these young men, guiding them on what it means to be a professional, including the lifestyle, the right approach, and the mindset needed for success.
