Max George enjoyed a quiet Christmas at home after being discharged from hospital following emergency heart surgery.

The 36-year-old singer, still recovering from having a pacemaker fitted, was overjoyed to reunite with his beloved pitbull, Albert.

Taking to Instagram Stories on Boxing Day, The Wanted singer shared a heartwarming moment with his pet as they cuddled on the couch while watching football.

In the short clip, he kissed his dog on the head and wrote, “Missed My Boy,” clearly thrilled to be back with his four-legged companion after weeks in the hospital.

George had previously admitted to feeling “bruised and battered” after the surgery but expressed relief at being home for the holidays.

Earlier in December, he revealed he was spending Christmas in the hospital due to an undiagnosed heart condition, but on Christmas Day, he shared the joyful news of reuniting with his girlfriend, Maisie Smith, 23, to celebrate with family and friends.

In an Instagram post, he posted cosy photos of the couple snuggled up on the sofa and the dining table set for Christmas lunch.

He captioned the trio of photos simply with: “It’s so good to be home”.

The Glad You Came hitmaker’s update comes two days after he was discharged from hospital following emergency heart surgery.

George, who was initially set to spend Christmas in hospital, shared that he was feeling “bruised and battered” as he prepared to go home on Christmas Eve.

In a video posted from his hospital bed, he said: “It’s time to go home. The numbers are way better. I feel knackered, slept a lot today.”

However, the Strictly Come Dancing alum noted that he isn’t completely in the clear yet. Doctors plan to conduct further tests in the coming weeks after discovering a lung issue.

He shared: “Few more tests to do over the next couple of weeks, something to do with my lungs but that’s the least of my worries right now.

“All good, bit battered and bruised and knackered but,” he added as he gave a thumbs up to the camera.

In a health update on December 16, George said he had “a 2:1 block in my heart” and would be undergoing heart surgery “way quicker than the doctors first thought”.

He previously said in a video to his Instagram stories that he was “hoping (for a) pacemaker”.

The implanted devices, which regulate heart rhythm, have saved countless lives by generating an electric current.

Parker, who also rose to fame in the 2010s with the boy band The Wanted along with George, died at the age of 33 after being diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumour.
