With the “OJ effect” eroding public confidence in the legal system, Judge Stanley Weisberg’s decided to limit the defence’s ability to present evidence of the brothers’ alleged abuse by their father, to avoid another controversial outcome. As such, the jury didn’t get to hear the full story of the abuse, and the prosecution was able to successfully argue the brothers killed their parents for financial gain.
