Zlatan Ibrahimovic gives verdict on next career move and following Man United legends

Former Manchester United forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic has acknowledged that he doesn’t envision himself becoming a manager like Ruud van Nistelrooy and Wayne Rooney. Ibrahimovic retired from professional football in June 2023 at the age of 41, concluding a 24-year senior career. The Sweden international, having played for Malmo, Ajax, Juventus, Inter Milan, AC Milan, Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester United, and LA Galaxy, netted 511 goals in 866 club matches. He also played for his country 122 times, scoring 62 goals before retiring. During his short stint at United from July 2016 to March 2018, Ibrahimovic scored 29 goals in 53 appearances and contributed to the team’s victories in the Carabao Cup and Europa League in his first season. He departed near the conclusion of his second campaign and joined the MLS with the Los Angeles Galaxy. Following Ibrahimovic’s retirement 18 months ago, there was some speculation about the possibility of him transitioning into a management role. He has been in an executive position at Milan for the past year, and the ex-striker has no desire to transition to coaching, calling it ‘too much work.’ In a chat with Sports Illustrated, Ibrahimovic remarked: “Do I still not envision myself as a coach?” At this moment, yes.
