When the 2026 Golden Globes returned to our screens, they once again chose to hand the mic over to comedian Nikki Glaser. It was a night that served glitz, glamour, and just enough roasting to remind us why we’re all watching.
The star took to the stage for her second year of hosting the Awards show, announcing to the crowd of A-listers, ‘Just like Wicked, I’m back for a sequel. Just like Frankenstein, I’ve been pieced together by an unlicensed European surgeon.’
And as per, Nikki’s opening monologue left everyone talking. From America’s political state to the Epstein files, the star didn’t shy away from noting some of the stories that dominated headlines.
‘Yes, the Golden Globes: without a doubt, the most important thing that’s happening in the world right now,’ she said. ‘I cannot believe the amount of star power we have in this room tonight. It’s insane. There are so many A-listers. And by A-listers, I do mean people who are on the A-list that has been heavily redacted.’
And our celebrity guests certainly weren’t let off lightly. One moment saw Nikki zone in on One Battle After Another’s Leonardo DiCaprio, jibing at the actor’s infamous habit of dating women under 30. āI tried not to [make that joke], but like, we don’t know anything else about you, man,ā she joked. āLike, there’s nothing else. Like, open up. I’m serious! I looked. I searched. The most in-depth interview you’ve ever given was inĀ Teen BeatĀ magazine in 1991. Is your favourite food still pasta, pasta, and more pasta?ā
So, who is Nikki Glaser? Is she single? And what are her political beliefs? Here’s everything you need to know about the Golden Globes host…
Who is Nikki Glaser and what does she do?
Nikki Glaser is an American comedian and actor, who is known for stand-up TV specials, hosting awards shows, and appearing on reality TV. Sheās acted in a few Amy Schumer comedy films, including 2015ās Trainwreck and 2018ās I Feel Pretty, as well as participated in televised roasts for public figures including Tom Brady, Bruce Willis, and Alec Baldwin.
She has hosted the Golden Globes for the past two years, making her the first solo female host in Golden Globes history.

How old is Nikki Glaser and where is she from?
Born 1 June, 1984, Nikki Rene Glaser is currently 41 years old (and a witty and curious Gemini for our star sign fans.)
She was born in Cincinatti, Ohio, and spent most of her childhood growing up in Kirkwood, Missouri. She studied at the University of Kansas, graduating with a degree in English literature.
Is Nikki Glaser single?
Nikki is not single, with the comedian having an on-off relationship with her boyfriend Chris Convy. The pair met on the set of Nikkiās MTV talk show, Nikki & Sara Live, back in 2013. Like Nikki, Chris has spent his career working in television (albeit from behind the scenes.) Heās worked as a producer on several awards shows, including the MTV Video Music Awards, Nickelodeonās Kids Choice Awards, and the iHeartRadio Music Awards.
Of course, fans of Nikkiās may recall that Chris has popped up in a few of her comedy routines. How does he feel about his girlfriend airing out their relationship in public? Nikki once told People, āMy boyfriendās so cool. Heās given me permission. He said, āYou can talk about me on stage as long as itās funny. The second it isnāt, if it bombs, then we have an issue.ā
And one of those jokes happens to be their height difference…
Nikkiās boyfriend Chris is shorter than her, standing at 5ā7 compared to Nikkiās 5ā9. Recently opened up on Saturday Night Live, saying, āHeās shorter than me. But heās like really hot. And honestly, I think thatās why I got him, because I could never get his face on a taller model. Like if you want to get a 10 in the face, you gotta go 5ā7 in the height. Thatās the trick. Itās like getting a hot guy on discount.ā

Does Nikki Glaser have children?
No, Nikki doesnāt have kids – and sheās been very open about the fact that they may not be in her future.
āI didnāt freeze my eggs,ā she told TODAY studio audiences back in 2024, admitting she would consider adoption if she ever did decide to have children.
āI have friends that have decided not to have kids, and thereās still some shame there. You see your friends wanting it so badly ā genuinely wanting it ā and you feel like, whatās wrong with me that I donāt want it? You feel like of left out. And thatās what Iām struggling with more than just, āWell, should I do it?ā Because Iām kind of sure I donāt want it. But Iām like, why donāt I want this thing that everyone seems to want?ā
What are Nikki Glaser’s political views?
With American politics seemingly more polarised than ever, Nikki also turned her sights to the US Government and media when she hosted the 2026 Golden Globes. Jokingly announcing a few Golden Globes winners for some non-existent categories, she awarded Best Editing to the U.S. Justice Department, and Most Editing to CBS News. āCBS News: Americaās newest place to see BS news,ā she quipped.
Naturally, itās left some people questioning where the comedian herself lies on the political spectrum.
In the past, Nikki has revealed how she prefers to avoid discussing her specific political leanings publicly, preferring to keep her material non-political to avoid alienating fans. While she does incorporate politicians and politics into her acts, it’s said she mainly chooses to joke about personal characteristics rather than policies. At one point, Nikki roasted former president Joe Biden, saying of the Democrat, ‘He’s so old, he had COVID-1.’
While it’s not public knowledge whether she’s a Democrat or a Republican, it does appear that she isn’t Donald Trump’s biggest fan. When asked about the president in 2017, she said, ‘I just donāt have anything funny to say about him because it is so upsetting. Iām a little more depressed because of it, and overall that makes everything else Iām talking about funnier.’
Last year, Nikki also warned about the chilling effect Donald Trump’s second term was having on the country’s comedy scene. Saying there’s ‘a real fear’ among some comedians than they could be ‘detained’ over political jokes, especially those involving the president, she shared, ‘You are just scared that you’re gonna get doxxed and death threats, or who knows where this leads, like detained.’
‘That’s not even like a joke. It’s a real fear. So it’s unfortunate that that’s even true, but I’m not gonna lie and say I don’t think about that sometimes.’
Does Nikki Glaser have Instagram?
