Trump says Epstein files are distracting from his agenda and could ‘ruin’ reputations

The Department of Justice published another 30,000 pages of documents, photographs and investigative material on Jeffrey Epstein Tuesday morning, its biggest release so far.

In doing so, the DOJ warned that the latest tranche includes “untrue and sensationalist claims” against President Donald Trump but did not specify what they were.

The department released a previous selection Monday afternoon that was subsequently withdrawn but included an allegation from an unnamed assistant U.S. attorney in the Southern District of New York, dating from January 2020, that Trump traveled on Epstein’s private jet “many more times than previously has been reported.”

The president himself has not been accused of any wrongdoing in relation to Epstein, the disgraced financier and sex trafficker, but has faced persistent questions about their past friendship.

Trump addressed Friday’s “partial” release of the files for the first time at a press conference Monday, warning that the process could “ruin” reputations and complaining it was overshadowing his own policy agenda.

The president also defended Bill Clinton, who has appeared in a number of photographs and has called for the complete release of any further files relating to him.

New files contain alleged letter from Epstein to Larry Nassar that mentions Trump

The files contain an alleged letter from Epstein to convicted sex offender Larry Nasser, the former USA Gymnastics team doctor.

“As you know by now, I have taken the ‘short route’ home,” Epstein wrote in the alleged letter, which was which was postmarked Aug. 13, 2019, three days after Epstein’s body was found in his Manhattan jail cell.

“We shared one thing,” the letter continued, “our love and caring for young ladies and the hope they’d reach their full potential.”

Epstein then brought up President Donald Trump.

“Our president also shares our love of young, nubile girls,” he allegedly wrote. “When a young beauty walked by he loved to ‘grab snatch,’ whereas we ended up snatching grub in the mess halls of the system.”

“Life is unfair,” he added before signing with: “Yours, J. Epstein.”

When will the remaining Epstein files be released?

Here’s a look at the current state of play:

  • The DOJ has announced it will continue releasing hundreds of thousands of Epstein-related files over the next few weeks, potentially extending into early January 2026.
  • No precise date for the full release of all documents has been officially provided by the DOJ.
  • The Epstein Files Transparency Act, passed last month, required all unclassified records to be made public within 30 days, setting a deadline of 19 December 2025.
  • An initial batch of documents was released but it did not include all files in the DOJ’s possession, and many of the released documents were heavily redacted.
  • More have since arrived.
  • Lawmakers have criticised the Trump administration for failing to meet the 30-day deadline stipulated by the new law.

Files reportedly contain a fake video of Epstein’s suicide

A 12-second video sent to the FBI purporting to show Jeffrey Epstein’s suicide in his New York jail cell in August 2019 is reportedly included in today’s tranche, which appears to have been sent to the bureau by the member of the public who had seen it online and wanted to know whether or not it was real.

Files contain Epstein’s last will and testament

Among the documents released this morning is the disgraced billionaire’s will, which was signed in the U.S. Virgin Islands in 2003 where his private island, Little St James, is situated.

It stipulates that his estate’s executors should receive $100,000 each for administering it.

Victim describes Ghislaine Maxwell as a ‘psychopath’ without remorse

In another email from December 2020, a statement from one of the victims about Ghislaine Maxwell, Epstein’s former girlfriend and accomplice, that was prepared for a court bail hearing can be read.

It says of Maxwell: “She has lived a life of privilege, abusing her position of power to live beyond the rules. Fleeing the country in order to escape once more would fit with her long history of anti-social behavior.

“I believe that she is a psychopath… She has demonstrated a complete failure to accept responsibility in any way for her actions and demonstrated a complete lack of remorse for her central role in procuring victims for Epstein. She was both charming and manipulative with me during the grooming process.”

DOJ warns of ‘untrue and sensationalist claims’ against Trump in new files release

“The Department of Justice has officially released nearly 30,000 more pages of documents related to Jeffrey Epstein,” the DOJ writes on X (Twitter).

“Some of these documents contain untrue and sensationalist claims made against President Trump that were submitted to the FBI right before the 2020 election. To be clear: the claims are unfounded and false, and if they had a shred of credibility, they certainly would have been weaponized against President Trump already.

“Nevertheless, out of our commitment to the law and transparency, the DOJ is releasing these documents with the legally required protections for Epstein’s victims.”

Maxwell received emails from ‘A’ at ‘Balmoral Summer Camp’

In August 2001, a person identified only as “A” or “The Invisible Man” can be seen writing to Maxwell and saying: “I am up here at Balmoral Summer Camp for the Royal Family.”

They continue: “How’s LA? Have you found me some new inappropriate friends? Let me know when you are coming over as I am free from 25th August until 2nd Sept and want to go somewhere hot and sunny with some fun people before having to put my nose firmly to the grindstone for the Fall.”

(DOJ)

Maxwell responds: “So sorry to dissappoint [sic] you, however the truth must be told. I have only been able to find appropriate friends.”

“A” responds: “Distraught!”

They continue: “…now my whole life is in turmoil as I have no one to look after me. He was a real rock and almost a part of the family … If you have any good ideas as to how to get my mind back on track I’d be grateful for advice. See you real soon… I hope if you are coming over. A xxx”

Epstein victim ‘had nightmares about him coming after her’

One harrowing email sent by an assistant U.S. attorney in Florida on February 1, 2008 and included in the new batch of releases reads: “We just finished interviewing three of the girls. I wish you could have been there to see how much this has affected them.

“One girl broke down sobbing so that we had to stop the interview twice within a 20 minute span. She regained her composure enough to continue a short time, but she said that she was having nightmares about Epstein coming after her and she started to break down again, so we stopped the interview.”

Epstein insisted on age checks for female masseurs and considered 23 ‘too old’

Another witness quoted in the new files characterizes the late pedophile as picky in his taste in girls and fastidious about establishing their age.

“There were a few girls he wasn’t crazy about. He didn’t really like,” the witness said, adding that Epstein had once rejected a potential masseur as “too old” at 23.

According to a handwritten note taken from a May 2019 interview and spotted by The Times, the financier was “asking for ID to girl, wanted make sure under 18 b/c he wasn’t believing them b/c [redacted] messed up by bringing more older girls.”
