Sports presenter Laura Woods left fans concerned earlier this week, after the star appeared to collapse live on-air during coverage of England Women’s match against Ghana.

Prompting many viewers to ask ‘What happened to Laura Woods?’, the star was live on ITV4 when she suddenly fell forward. Caught by fellow pundits Ian Wright and Anita Asante, the camera quickly cut away. Audio continued however, with Ian checking up on Laura before an ad break began. When coverage resumed, stand-in presenter Katie Shanahan had taken over.

Shortly after the incident, Laura’s fiancé Adam Collard – remembered by many as one of Love Island‘s most infamous lotharios – wrote on X, ‘Laura is all ok and with the right people.’

Laura later gave an update to worried fans about her health. Saying that she was ‘really embarrassed that happened on TV,’ Laura wrote, ‘Gosh, that was a bit weird. Sorry to worry everyone, I’m okay. The wonderful paramedics at Saints have said it’s probably a virus, just need a bit of rest and hydration.’

The moment has left many fans wanting to know more about the sports star. Here’s everything to know about Laura – including her romance with reality star Adam Collard.

Who is Laura Woods?

Laura Woods is a 38-year-old presenter from Dagenham. She currently works for ITV and TNT Sports.

Is Laura Woods a TV presenter?

Laura has worked in the world of sports broadcasting since 2009, getting her first job at Sky Sports as a runner. From there, she worked her way up to editorial assistant, before entering into production, and eventually producing. She earned her stripes by covering darts events and presenting on Sky’s YouTube and Facebook channels, before landing her first big TV gig in 2018, when she became a regular pitch-side reporter on Super Sunday, occasionally reporting with Gary Neville.

By July 2023, Laura had joined TNT Sports (formerly BT Sport) as the lead presenter for the UEFA Champions League and the boxing coverage. She’s worked as ITV’s lead presenter for the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup, and is often involved in women’s football.

On top of her TV duties, Laura also worked as a radio presenter for Talksport between 2020 and 2023.

Does Laura Woods have a child?

In January 2025, Laura welcomed her first child with Love Island‘s Adam Collard. Announcing the birth of their son, named Leo Ernie Collard, the couple shared sweet pictures of them getting used to parenthood.

After stepping away from her presenting duties while pregnant, Laura returned to TV earlier this year – revealing during an interview with The Telegraph that she was feeling ‘nervous’ to be back on screen.

‘I was nervous about how I looked,’ she said. ‘You put on a lot of weight in pregnancy and you feel a little bit different.’

She went on to admit that motherhood had also brought with it a whole new sense of self love. ‘I felt quite a level of acceptance of myself I don’t think I had before I had a baby,’ she explained. ‘My body has done an amazing thing. Now the important thing is that my whole kind of existence is making sure that Leo’s existence is great, and that I’m looking after him in the best way I can. So things that you think matter do take a step back.’

When did Laura Woods and Adam Collard start dating?

Laura and Adam – who rose to fame on Love Island in 2018 – first met in 2023, after the reality star messaged the sports presenter on Instagram. Although Adam went on to appear on the ITV dating show for a second time, the pair struck up a relationship not long after.

In September 2024, the couple got engaged on a beach in Cornwall – just months before welcoming their first son. Sharing the news on social media, Laura gushed, ‘And just like that… You make me happy @adamcollard.’

As for wedding plans, Adam revealed earlier this year that the couple were forced to delay their big day. ‘We started to plan the wedding, but now we’ve moved house we’re doing to do it nearer our new place. It’s on the backburner at the moment, but it’s going to be a 2026 wedding,’ he said.

Who has Laura Woods dated in the past?

Laura’s relationship with Adam came following her split from England rugby player Alex Corbisiero, who she had dated for eight years.

As for who Adam Collard has dated in the past, he’s had several high profile romances over the years. His first public relationship was with Zara McDermott, after the pair met on Love Island in 2018. After heading back onto the ITV dating show in 2022, the star struck up a relationship with Welsh contestant Paige Thorne. The following year, Adam appeared on Celebs Go Dating, sparking romance rumours after he was pictured hand in hand with model Lottie Moss, who was also starring on the show. Things played out differently on the show, however – and after having several arguments, Lottie accused Adam of leading her on.
