If you’re a fan of Big Little Lies, The White Lotus, or Adolescence, you won’t want to miss this new coming-of-age drama that blends elements of all three.

Available for streaming from 15 November, it stars House of the Dragon’s Eve Best and True Detective’s Carmen Ejogo.

The story follows two best friends, Lorna and Juliet, who share the same indulgent lifestyle but come from very different backgrounds.

This family drama unfolds in a fictional gated community in the Home Counties called Richford Lake. Supposedly, “A safe haven for the superrich” where “bad things never happen,” according to the show’s official synopsis.

Lorna and Juliet’s friendship is pushed to the brink when their teenage daughters, Grace and Allegra, become embroiled in a shocking scandal at their all-girls private school.

Wild Cherry is set to be “provocative and deliciously honest” look at mother/daughter relationships. Also highlighting the “whirlwind of social media, hidden apps and relentless peer pressure”.

The show is the brainchild of Nicôle Lecky, who has previously written for EastEnders, Death in Paradise, and her 2022 musical drama Mood, which won two Baftas.

Carmen Ejogo takes on the role of Lorna, a self-made, successful businesswoman from south London. The best friend of Juliet and the mother of Grace.

Ejogo has enjoyed a successful career in TV and film across several genres over the last four decades.

She’s known more recently for her stellar TV performances in True Detective and Self Made.

Also, for playing President Seraphina Picquery in the Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them film series.

Eve Best assumes the role of Juliet, the mother of Allegra, who was born into wealth and privilege, in stark contrast to her best friend.

Eve is known in TV for her performances as Princess Rhaenys Targaryen in House of the Dragon and Dr Eleanor O’Hara in the series Nurse Jackie.

In film, she appeared as Wallis Simpson in The King’s Speech.

Sophie Winkleman

Revered by Peep Show fans as ‘Big Suze’, Winkleman has an array of TV roles to her name across the last two decades.

Half sister of Claudia Winkleman, host of the nation’s favourite game of trust, Sophie is more than suited to this wealth-ridden psychodrama.

Nicôle Lecky as Gigi

As well as being the show’s creator and showrunner, Lecky will feature in the series, playing the part of Gigi.

She’s most known on screen for her lead role in her award-winning series Mood, which she also wrote and executive-produced.

Imogen Faires as Grace

The daughter of Lorna and best friends with Allegra, Fairs has appeared in a few big British shows already.

Most notably, she featured as Emma Buckland in Marcella.

Wild Cherry was filmed in the leafy suburbs of Surrey.

Private towns and estates, which accurately depicted the wealth and class, were carefully selected by the producers.

This is a six-part series. You can watch Wild Cherry on BBC iPlayer and BBC One on 15 November.

All six episodes will be available on iPlayer from 6am, and the first two episodes will premiere on BBC One at 9pm.
