The countdown to Christmas is on, which means only one thing: alongside Strictly Come Dancing and festive specials, I’m A Celebrity is back for another year. A host of new celebrities have signed up for this year’s show, with the likes of Alex Scott, Vogue Williams and rapper Aitch joining hosts Ant and Dec down under.
One of the people set to appear on our screens for some bushtucker trials is Angry Ginge. Bookies have already named the YouTuber a favourite to win ahead of the ITV show starting this Sunday.
So, who is Angry Ginge? Where is he from? And what is his real name? Here’s everything to know about the man who may well be our new jungle king…

Prior to entering the show, Angry Ginge explained it was a ‘bucket list moment’ for him – but did admit he was feeling nervous at the thought of sleeping outside.
He confessed, ‘The closest I’ve ever done to this is The Duke of Edinburgh Bronze award. And that didn’t go down well, so I haven’t got the best of confidence coming into this.’
While he’s currently bookies favourite to be crowned the King of the Jungle, Angry Ginge is apparently taking on some bushtucker trials in the name of love. The star’s close friend Tays has revealed that Ginge opened up about his motivation for joining the show, saying, ‘He said that he is going on there to find a girlfriend.’
What is Angry Ginge’s real name?
Of course, Angry Ginge isn’t actually his name. He was born Morgan Burtwistle, with Angry Ginge his online persona. Why the name Angry Ginge, you ask? Presumably because he is ginger, and as streamers so often do, does tend to get frustrated while playing video games.
How old is Angry Ginge?
Born on 13 November, 2001, Angry Ginge is currently 24 years old. If you’re into star signs, this also makes him an intuitive and passionate Scorpio!
Where is Angry Ginge from?
Born and raised in Salford, Manchester, Angry Ginge is a proud Mancunian. The social media star has been candid about much of his upbringing, including being raised on a council estate. When talking to indy100, Ginge explained that his background helps people resonate with his content, because he’s ‘come from the same place they’ve come from.’
‘I’ve come from a council estate and I know what they go through and have been through, and can bond with them and get to know them on a more personal level,’ he said.
While he’s previously spoken about not having a close relationship with his father, Ginge shares a tight bond with his mum. An insider told The Sun, ‘His relationship with his mum is incredibly tight and he has made it his mission to support her now he is famous, after everything she did for him.’
As news of Angry Ginge’s I’m a Celeb stint broke, his family and friends were quick to share their support. In one facebook post, a relative urged people to vote for Ginge, writing, ‘Just a local Salford lad, with a heart of gold, living the dream. We are all very proud of you Morgan and would love to see you go all the way! Bring on the kangaroo balls.’
What does Angry Ginge do for a job?
Social media, of course. Angry Ginge first rose to fame for his football and FIFA related content on YouTube and streaming platform Twitch. After streaming to a couple of hundred Twitch viewers in 2020, his popularity has skyrocketed – with his main YouTube channel now boasting over 880,000 followers, and over 1.3 million on Twitch. In 2024, he was nominated for the Best Sports Streamer at the Streamer Awards.
Outside of social media, Angry Ginge is a big football fan. He’s the manager of Baller League team Yanited, as well as having played in the Sidemen Charity football match. Earlier this year, he was one of the players to take to the pitch for Soccer Aid – voted Man of the Match for his game.

As for TV, I’m A Celeb isn’t exactly his first taste of being onscreen. He previously starred in the Sidemen’s YouTube reality series Inside, which sees content creators compete for a £1 million prize fund. He was also introduced to fans during an episode of Gogglebox, where he appeared alongside darts player and close friend Luke Littler.
When news broke that he was joining the ITV show, Angry Ginge was quick to thank his fans for all their support. He explained, ‘Without you, I wouldn’t even be able to go in the jungle. So first of all, thank you very much. Basically just wanted to come on and say thank you. It should be good, should be interesting. Please don’t vote for me to do too many trials is what I will say. If I do get voted for them, I will do my very best.’
What is Angry Ginge’s net worth?
It’s no secret that social media is the new era of celebrity – and a lucrative one at that. It’s reported online that Angry Ginge’s net worth sits at over £1million. According to some online reports, the YouTuber is being paid around 100k to appear on IAC.
