It’s been a bad month for David Harbour. Just weeks after Lily Allen’s jaw-dropping album, West End Girl, accused him of cheating (amongst other things) during their four year marriage, his Stranger Thing co-star Millie Bobby Brown has come forward with her own allegations.
Millie Bobby Brown has starred as Eleven in Stranger things since 2016, in which Harbour plays her on-screen father, the police chief Hopper. The allegations have reportedly promoted an internal investigation from Netflix.
What has Millie Bobby Brown accused David Harbour of?
Millie allegedly filed a claim against Harbour for his behaviour towards her, reportedly prompting an internal inquiry from Netflix. ‘Millie Bobby Brown filed a harassment and bullying claim before they started shooting the last season,’ a source told the Mail on Sunday. ‘There were pages and pages of accusations. The investigation went on for months.’ The outlet reports the accusations are not thought to include any claims of sexual misconduct.
Netflix have so far declined to comment on any investigation, and the newspaper reported that the outcome of the inquiry is not known. Following the accusations, Millie is thought to have had a representative with her throughout filming on set in the latest season, according to reports in the Daily Mail.

David Harbour plays Millie Bobby Brown’s character’s on-screen father, Hopper, in Stranger Things, a role they’ve both had since the series launched in July 2016. The up and down father daughter relationship between Eleven and the police chief becomes a central theme in the show.
In 2021, David spoke about their on-screen dynamic, saying he felt ‘protective’ of Millie as they started filming together when she was a child. ‘Millie and I have always had sort of a special relationship because I knew her when she was so young. I knew her before any of this big fame hit,’ he said on That Scene with Dan Patrick podcast. ‘I have a real protective feeling for her. I have a real, like, worry,’ he continued. ‘I worry about her and the fame and all that she has to struggle with.’
When is the new season of Stranger Things out?
The news comes just weeks before the premiere of season five of Stranger Things. Part 1 will premiere on Netflix on November 26, 2025, followed by Part 2 on December 25, 2025 and Part 3 on December 31, 2025.
