Trigger Point is back for a third season, with Expo Lana Washington facing an unflinching new enemy.
Sunday night saw the eagerly anticipated return of Trigger Point to our screens for a third season, starring Line of Duty’s Vicky McClure.
The ITV crime-thriller immerses audiences in the high-octane stories of a bomb disposal unit within the metropolitan police, focusing on the struggles of Expo Lana Washington.
Having faced off against a terrorist group in the last series, viewers were treated to a gripping climax in which Lana used her prowess to avoid a certain catastrophe at Counter Terrorism HQ.
This was, of course, juxtaposed with the significant personal loss and turmoil, all of which left Lana in a less-than-stable position by the end of the 2024 series.
Now, following a near two-year hiatus, Jed Mercurio and co (Line of Duty, Bodyguard) return with the next installment. Season three also features lead writer Chris Brandon (Bloodlands) and director Jamie Donoughue (Doctor Who, A Discovery of Witches).

Who is in the cast of Trigger Point season three?
Vicky McClure reprises her role as a Metropolitan Police explosives officer, Lana Washington.
Other returning cast members include Eric Shango (On The Edge), Nabil Elouahabi (Blue Lights), Natalie Simpson (North Sea Connection), Kerry Godliman (Whitstable Pearl) and Maanuv Thiara (DI Ray).
New to our screens for this series are Mark Rowley, who plays Lana’s fellow expo Rich Manning, and Jason Flemyng, the series’s exciting new antagonist.
You’ll know Flemyng for his previous exploits in Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, Snatch and Layer Cake.

Vicky McClure as Lana Washington
Vicky McClure stars as Lana Washington, the tortured soul taking front and centre once again.
In season three, “we’re exploring the effects of everything that’s happened to her over the previous two series.” McClure confirmed in a recent Radio Times interview.
Now with nigh-on ubiquitous acclaim in the British drama scene, McClure was awarded a Bafta for best actress for her role in This is England (2011).
The 42-year-old also claimed a TV Choice Award for best actress in Line of Duty (2011) as well as an MBE for services to drama and charity in 2023.
Kerry Godliman as Sonya
Godliman plays Sonya, who works at the bomb data centre and is a close friend of Lana’s.
Kerry is best known for her work with Ricky Gervais, having co-starred in Derek and Afterlife.
Attentive viewers might also recognise her from projects like Our Girl, Bad Move, and Adult Material.
Nabil Elouahabi as Hass
Elouahabi returns in season three as Hass Rahim, a character who has grown to be a stalwart of the Expo team.
Nabil Elouhabi has graced our screens over the years in a variety of shows, including Top Boy, Our Girl, and Blue Lights.
Older fans might even remember him from his role as Tariq Larousi on EastEnders two decades ago.
Eric Shango as Danny
Eric Shango plays Danny, another member of the team, recently married as we kick off season three.
Although best known for his current role, you may be familiar with Shango for his appearances in Suspicion and On the Edge.
Jason Flemyng as Steven Wyles
A welcome addition to the roster this season, the show’s new antagonist, Steven Wyles.
Flemyng describes Wyles as a “union boy, a working-class lad, who just decides that the world has let him down,” when interviewed about this role recently.
Mr Flemyng is instantly recognisable in the British gangster scene, with roles in Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels and Snatch laying the foundations for a significant career at home and across the pond.
Synonymous with quirky and terrifying portrayals, under the tutelage of Guy Ritchie, fans will be chomping at the bit to see how this plays out.

Where is Trigger Point filmed?
The first two seasons were shot across Greater London, including locations in north London and spots further south. This had also been bolstered by shoots in areas like Dagenham and Uxbridge.
This time around, known locations include Hackney, South Kilburn, Bethnal Green, Hackney Wick, and the Limehouse Link Tunnel.
Filming for season three was reported in Southwark’s Lancaster Estate (SE1) earlier this year.
It’s believed that additional shoots from areas in Kent will also feature, as was the case in series one and two.
Filming for series three of Trigger Point first started during the first week of February 2025, before concluding in early June 2025.
How many episodes are there in season three?
Like the first two installments, series three hosts six action-packed episodes. They are all around 45 minutes in length.
Where can I watch Trigger Point season three?
Trigger Point season three premiered in the UK on ITV1 on Sunday 26 October via ITV1, STV, and their streaming platforms – ITVX and STV Player.
All episodes will also be available to stream live and on demand from the 26th for free. However, you will need a valid TV licence to stream content live.
New episodes will be airing each Sunday on ITV1 and STV, if you prefer to watch the series week to week.
