She’s only just released her brand new album The Life of a Showgirl, but Taylor Swift already has another project in the works. After teasing a huge announcement, the record-breaking singer has now revealed she will be releasing two new specials on Disney+: The Eras Tour | The Final Show, and The End of an Era.
Sharing the news on Instagram, Taylor wrote, ‘It was the End of an Era and we knew it. We wanted to remember every moment leading up to the culmination of the most important and intense chapter of our lives, so we allowed filmmakers to capture this tour and all the stories woven throughout it as it wound down. And to film the final show in its entirety.’
The star then announced that fans will be treated to both a concert film and a docuseries: The Eras Tour | The Final Show, featuring the entire set from her album Tortured Poets Department, and The End of an Era, a six part behind-the-scenes docuseries.
If her Instagram is anything to go by, both projects are sure to be an instant hit. Within the first hour alone, Taylor garnered a massive 1.5 million likes on her announcement video.

What is The End of an Era about?
Announcing the news on Good Morning America, Taylor revealed that a brand new docuseries is on the way. Titled The End of an Era, the show will be a behind-the-scenes look at her record-breaking tour. Alongside rehearsal footage and planning, fans will also see some more intimate moments of the singer’s life – with the trailer showing Taylor walking around an empty stadium holding one of her cats, and childhood home videos of her.
In the trailer, Taylor is heard saying, ‘People like to talk of phenomenon almost as if it were pieces falling into place, as if it just happened. The Eras Tour wasn’t when all the pieces fell into place. This tour was just when every single one of us who had done so much work, pushing inch by inch, to where we all clicked together.’
‘We broke every single record you can break with this tour,’ she adds. ‘The only thing left is to close the book.’
Who will appear in The End of an Era?
The press release for the docuseries says the series will spotlight performers, family members and friends who were involved in the tour.
Fiance Travis Kelce is set to make several appearances, with the trailer showing the pair rehearsing their iconic onstage moment. The NFL player went viral when he joined Taylor onstage at Wembley last year, carrying her ahead of her “I Can Do It With A Broken Heart” performance.

Taylor’s family are also set to appear, with the trailer featuring her parents, Andrea and Scott. The pair became well-known faces during the Eras Tour, with Scott often handing out VIP wristbands, while Andrea was seen swapping friendship bracelets and taking selfies with fans.
Alongside the dancers and choreographers who helped bring The Eras Tour to life, The End of an Era will also feature appearances from those singers who joined the star on tour. Sabrina Carpenter and Gracie Abrams will appear, who both were support acts. Taylor’s close friends Florence Welch and Ed Sheeran also made cameos during the trailer, having both performed with her at various points.
Fans have also speculated that Paramore’s Hayley Williams could also feature, with the band having supported Taylor across her tour.

What is The Eras Tour | The Final Show?
At the same time she announced The End of an Era, Taylor also announced The Eras Tour | The Final Show. Landing on Disney+ at the same time, The Final Show stands separately to Taylor’s docuseries.
The concert film will show the final Eras Tour performance, shot in Vancouver. Unlike the first Eras Tour film she released in 2023, this one will include performances of songs from The Tortured Poets Department. Having released the album last year, the singer updated her Eras Tour setlist halfway through to include her newest songs. Now, fans will get the chance to see performances including ‘The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived’ and ‘I Can Do It With a Broken Heart.’
When is Taylor Swift’s new series, The End of an Era, being release?
The Eras Tour | The Final Show will drop on Disney+ on December 12th, with the first two episodes of six-parter The End of an Era also landing that day. Fans will then be treated to two episodes per week of the docuseries for the next two weeks.
You will need a Disney+ subscription to watch both specials, which starts from around £5.99 a month.

This isn’t the first TV venture that Taylor has done.
Alongside her original Eras Tour movie, Taylor has also previously released concert films of both her Reputation and 1989 tours. In 2020, she released her Netflix documentary Miss Americana, which saw the star touch on some personal, heavier topics – including political opinions, her eating disorder, and her 2017 sexual assault trial.
Later that year, Taylor also released her documentary Folklore: The Long Pond Sessions on Disney+. The show took fans through the writing process of her lockdown album Folklore, as well as featuring acoustic covers of the songs.
