Blades, who hosted the popular BBC show for seven years before stepping back from the role in 2024, will appear in court next week, police confirmed.
A spokesperson for the West Mercia Police said: “Jason Blades, 55, of Claverley in Shropshire, has been charged with two counts of rape.”
They told The Sun: “He is due to appear at Telford magistrates’ court on 13 August 2025.”
In October 2024, the former The Repair Shop star was charged with engaging in controlling and coercive behaviour, after allegations came from his estranged wife, Zbozen.
The charge alleges that controlling or coercive behaviour took place in an intimate or family relationship between January 1 2023 and September 12 last year.
Blades denied the charges and is currently awaiting a pre-trial review.
Judge James Burbidge KC rejected an application for part of the proceedings to be heard in private.
This came after his wife, Lisa Marie Zbozen, shared a post on social media detailing their separation in May 2024.
According to The Metro, she said: “I don’t know how to say this because it’s still really raw.
“I probably should be really angry, but I’m just incredibly sad about the whole thing right now.
“I don’t think I’ve ever cried so much.”
She added: “I will admit I’m crying as I type this, as I can’t believe this is even real.
“I hope you don’t mind if I just have a few days trying to figure out my life, as I’m currently in a spare room with a few essentials.
“I don’t know what else to say.”
