Alum Chine Beach in Bournemouth earned the 39th spot on Big 7 Travel’s list of the best 50 beaches around the world, beating spots in the likes of Hawaii and Spain.

The “wonderful” beach can be reached by both car and train from London. If you’re driving, the journey should take around two hours and 40 minutes.

If you plan to catch the train, you can reach the beach from Waterloo Station to Poole before taking a short bus ride to St Michael’s Roundabout.

Popular among young families, the beach has a pirate-themed adventure playground and a land train that takes guests down to the promenade from Bournemouth Pier.

Alum Chine Beach also has a Tropical Garden that is popular among locals and filled with exotic plants.

On the online review website, Tripadvisor, Alum Chine Beach has a rating of 4.7 out of 5 from more than 440 reviews.

Out of those reviews, more than 340 are rated excellent.
