Shocking video shows plumes of smoke billowing from derelict Sidcup building blaze

Eight fire engines and around 60 firefighters have been tackling the blaze in Heron Crescent since 1.30pm (July 24). 

The roof of a two-storey derelict building is alight.

Residents are advised by the brigade to keep windows and doors closed due to large amounts of smoke being produced.

Drivers can expect some traffic disruption on Main Road.

The cause of the fire is unknown at this time. 

A spokesperson for London Fire Brigade said: “The Brigade received the first of eight calls at 1.31pm and Control Officers have mobilised crews from Orpington, Bromley, Lee Green and surrounding fire stations to the scene.

“A 32-metre turntable ladder from Greenwich Fire Station is also in attendance.”
