Amithraz Balgobin, 36, of Woodbourne Avenue, Lambeth, was charged with murder and possession of Class A and Class B drugs today (July 6).
He was remanded in custody to appear at Bromley Magistratesâ Court on Monday (July 7).
Police were called to Churchmore Road in Lambeth on Friday (July 4) at around 1pm after reports were made to the force that an 85-year-old man had sustained âseriousâ injuries.
He was pronounced dead by paramedics at the scene.
A post-mortem examination will take place at a later date and the victimâs next of kin have been informed by police.
