A dark-coloured car was seen driving ’70 or 80′ miles an hour down the A406 North Circular on June 30.

Around 1.30pm the driver was spotted by other road users after they heard horns beeping as drivers swerved away.

The driver was thought to have come off at the Waterworks corner, in Woodford, being chased by several police cars.

A witness said: “We heard the beeping on the other side of the road and saw people trying to swerve away.

“Police were flying past us chasing the car and people were beeping constantly.

“It was quite scary.

“We were thinking how much we would have panicked if we’d seen a car coming at us the wrong way like that.”

The Met Police have been contacted for comment.

It’s not a moment, a shocking moment on a London road has been caught on camera.

A recording from January 2025 caught the moment fly-tippers shoved a ‘kebab shop’ fridge off the back of a vehicle in the dead of night.

Footage shows the fridge being pushed from the back of a truck onto a residential street, hitting the pavement with an almighty crash.

But local resident Colin Aylward, whose doorbell camera captured the incident outside his home in Dagenham, East London, says this is not the first time such shameless fly-tipping has taken place on his road.

The 52-year-old reported the incident to his local council and police, and workers arrived at the scene around an hour later.
