Croydon man charged after woman seriously injured during Tesla robbery in Orpington

Omoleye Shotibi, 24, appeared before Bromley Magistrates’ Court on June 13 charged with knife and dangerous driving offences.

It came after an incident the previous day in Nugent Shopping Park was captured on video and shared on social media.

The Met Police confirmed that a woman was “seriously injured” and a vehicle was stolen.

Shotibi, of Elgin Road, Croydon, has been charged with robbery, threatening a person with a blade in a public place, causing serious injury by dangerous driving and using a motor vehicle in public without third-party insurance.

A Met Police spokesperson said: “A man has been charged following the robbery of a vehicle in which a woman was seriously injured.

“Omoleye Shotibi, 24 (27.11.2000), of Elgin Road, Croydon, appeared before Bromley Magistrates’ Court on Friday, 13 June, charged with robbery, threatening a person with a blade in a public place, causing serious injury by dangerous driving and using a motor vehicle in public without third-party insurance.

“All the charges are in relation to an incident in the car park of the Nugent Shopping Centre in Orpington on Thursday, 12 June.”
