On Saturday, June 21, Bexley’s Crook Log Leisure Centre will open the doors to its Community Festival, promising a day packed with engaging activities for all ages.
A focus of the festival will be on T1 Rugby, marking the 100-day countdown to the Women’s Rugby World Cup final.
In collaboration with the Rugby Football Union, the new Try Together T1 Rugby Programme will offer non-contact rugby sessions.
These sessions aim to provide participants with a safe and inclusive introduction to key aspects of rugby such as scrums, lineouts and breakdowns.
Other recreational offerings include a range of free and low-cost activities.
X-Treme Air, an inflatable playground covering more than 325 square metres, is available for just £1 per child.
The course includes features such as the Bash Wave, Beat the Wall, Biff Bash Forest, Large Fun Slide, Obstacle Course, Reaction Wall, and Wipeout Balls.
SEN sessions are also available for this activity.
The Stay and Play Tots session, also priced at £1 per child, offers a lively, open soft-play area, complete with ride-on toys and interactive activities designed to encourage movement, creativity and enhance coordination.
A separate SEN session is also available for this activity.
Families can also enjoy an aquatic adventure for £1 per person at the Swimming Fun ‘n’ Floats session.
This swimming session is equipped with various toys and flotation devices for families to explore together.
The festival offers exclusive discounts and special offers for attendees throughout the day.
This includes a 10 per cent discount on any birthday party booking made on the day and special membership offers.
The Community Festival at Crook Log Leisure Centre seeks to get people out of the house, active and interacting with their local leisure facilities.
It is an opportunity for the community to connect, improve their health and fitness, and discover the extensive services and activities the centre provides.
With participation from the RFU and numerous other activities on offer, festival organisers hope to encourage families and individuals alike to come along and discover the diverse range of services and fun that their local leisure centre has to offer.
