
This has been an emotional week for Elaine Peacock (Harriet Thorpe) and George Knight (Colin Salmon) as viewers saw the pair go their seperate ways.
Now new spoilers have shown George packing up his bags and leaving Albert Square for good.
EastEnders character George Knight to leave the show after huge ‘betrayal’
According to The Mirror, the chaos on the BBC show started when Junior revealed that George had gone off to see his ex-wfe on Christmas.
The EastEnders character insisted that he rejected her advances, but things took a dramataic turn when Elaine saw her husband being comforted by Cindy Beale.
After seeking advice from her Drew Peacock, she slept with another character called Stephen. When the pair eventually got their relationship back on track, she was unable to keep the secret from George.
When she came clean to him, he could not see past the ‘betrayal’, choosing to leave her.
Next week will see Phil Mitchell attempt to convince George to forgive Elaine.
After telling her that she should be given a second chance, she is left enraged by his inability to take any responsibiliy for the breakup and rejects him.
