On its website, Hitchin Farm opens its lavender field during the summer months and shares that the field is the most recent in Hitchin’s history of lavender-growing that dates back to the 1500s.
Hitchin Farm first opened its field in 2000, and this year marks its 25th anniversary.
Between June and August, the farm opens its main field where guests can explore the acres of lavender that will be in full bloom.
They add that the wildflowers will also be available to see from June to July, and the sunflowers are expected in August.
Guests at Hitchin Farm are encouraged to take photos and enjoy the “sea of purple of gold”.
The lavender farm is the largest of its kind, which allows visitors to pick lavender fresh from the fields.
Hitchin Farm also offers food and refreshments that are available at outlets in the main field and at the Old Barn tearoom.
Starting on June 28, the main field of the farm will be open every day of the week from 9am to 6pm.
On Tuesdays and Thursdays, the farm hosts late nights when it opens from 9am to 10pm.
On weekends, the main field is open from 9am to 8pm both days.
You need to buy a ticket before heading to the lavender field, and prices start at £6.81 for children aged 3 to 16 and £8.91 for adults.
The farm also offers family deals, and you can buy your tickets via the website here.
