Manchester United left back Luke Shaw is expected to comeback from his injury in the next two weeks. He has missed over a month due to a hamstring injury, but head coach Ruben Amorim indicated that the 29-year-old might be ready for selection in January. United will face Brighton and Rangers following their match against Southampton on Thursday night, before traveling to Fulham and FCSB for their final Europa League match this month. However, there is still no update on Mason Mount’s return. Mount has been out since he had to leave early in the first half of the Manchester derby victory against City on December 15. “Luke Shaw is closer to returning than Mason Mount,” Amorim stated. “He will need some extra time.” But definitely, Luke, we will meet in the next week or two. We’ll check to see if he’s coming back. Amorim stated that the injury-prone Mount is expected to play again this season. Mount has played in 33 out of 83 matches since transferring to United from Chelsea for £60 million in July 2023. Lisandro Martinez is anticipated to be ready for the Southampton game, even though he faced difficulties near the end of extra time during United’s FA Cup third round thriller against Arsenal on Sunday. Martinez played in the forward position since he couldn’t run towards the end. Diogo Dalot is serving a suspension due to his red card against Arsenal, and Victor Lindelof is also out because of an injury.
