‘Biggest fight in British boxing’ – Chris Eubank Jr vs Conor Benn ‘deal done’ as contract signed

Boxing promoter Turki Alalshikh has announced that Chris Eubank Jr will face Conor Benn in London this April. The chairman of Saudi Arabia’s general entertainment authority disclosed the agreement on social media early Wednesday. Recent photos have surfaced of Benn and his promoter, Eddie Hearn, showing Benn signing a contract in Alalshikh’s presence, apparently at The Berkeley hotel in Knightsbridge. Hearn shared the images on Instagram, declaring that “the biggest fight in British boxing has been made” and noted that more details will be provided soon. The date and location of the fight have yet to be confirmed, but it is expected to take place at either Tottenham Hotspur Stadium or Wembley Stadium. Eubank has not confirmed his participation in the fight, but he did react to the photos of Benn. “Signing his own death sentence,” Eubank wrote on X, previously known as Twitter. Just hours before Alalshikh’s confirmation, he said on the same platform: “Just so you all know… these two rats (Conor Benn) and (Eddie Hearn) are now trying to impose a rehydration restriction on me to make the fight… They talk a big game, but when it really matters… just a couple of,” Eubank added, finishing his post with two cat face emojis. However, Benn disputed those claims. “Hey there, you soft individual, I’m going to challenge you in a match, and I’m the (cat face emoji)? I’m rehydrating 10 pounds since I’m already competing as a middleweight, but you want to step into the ring as a light heavyweight? You’re terrified of Janibek and Hamzah, so I’m your only choice, satsuma head. In another post, Benn stated: “You’re already making excuses for when I pin you to the floor (Chris Eubank Jr).”
