Napoli is said to be feeling increasingly optimistic about striking a deal with Alejandro Garnacho for a potential January transfer from Manchester United. Garnacho has attracted interest from Serie A this month after losing favor with Ruben Amorim. Earlier in this transfer window, it was revealed that the winger is no longer considered untouchable as he was during the summer. The Argentine has recently rejoined United’s squad and played a significant role in their FA Cup victory over Arsenal on Sunday. He set up Bruno Fernandes at the Emirates Stadium before the Red Devils triumphed in the penalty shoot-out. Nonetheless, rumors persist about the 20-year-old potentially leaving Old Trafford. Napoli is the frontrunner to secure his signature after permitting Khvicha Kvaratskhelia to transfer to Paris Saint-Germain. The Georgian player is expected to move to the Ligue 1 leaders for €75 million (£63.1 million), leaving Antonio Conte with limited choices on the flanks but with funds available for reinvestment. Nonetheless, United and Napoli have not yet reached an agreement on the suggested financial deal. Il Mattino reports that the Italian club is optimistic about settling on personal terms with Garnacho for a five-year contract valued at €3m (£2.5m), but the winger’s agents are advocating for a contract worth €4m per year. The issue lies in the differing valuations of the player. United are said to be asking for €80m (£67.3m), whereas the Partenopei are only prepared to offer €50m (£42m). The €30 million (£25.2 million) gap might be the reason that halts a potential transfer this January.
