Man City teenage sensation sends clear message ahead of pivotal week

Manchester City’s rising star Reigan Heskey kicked off the new year impressively, scoring twice for Oliver Reiss’ Under-18 team in a 4-1 win against Everton. The gifted young player has netted 10 goals in 10 matches in the Under-18 Premier League and has also scored in Premier League 2, the EFL Trophy, and the UEFA Youth League this season. He will be looking to increase his goal total when City faces Millwall in the fourth round of the FA Youth Cup on Thursday evening at Joie Stadium. City are the current champions, and a victory in midweek will advance them to round five where they could face either Leeds United, repeating last season’s final, or AFC Fylde. If Heskey keeps improving at this pace, he may soon find himself in the first team. The fast and dynamic winger has a keen eye for scoring and has made a strong impression with his skills and mindset in the academy. Heskey, the son of ex-England striker Emile, aims to further his development at the academy level for the time being, as he is only 16 years old. He scored the first goal against Everton on Saturday with a deflected shot and netted City’s third with an accurate finish. Ryan McAidoo and Matty Warhurst also scored for the Blues, while Everton added a late consolation goal with a penalty from George Morgan. City will host Millwall at the Joie Stadium in the Youth Cup on Thursday. The players will practice on Sunday and then have Monday off as they prepare for the upcoming game.
