Luke Littler may be a master at throwing the darts, but not many are privy to his hidden vocal prowess.. At 17, Littler is one of the nation’s most exciting sports figures, having become the youngest-ever PDC World Darts Champion. Beyond his impressive darts acumen, the Warrington native, who scooped up the Young Sports Personality of the Year award, also harbours a musical streak.. Ex-Manchester City star Micah Richards recently had ample opportunity to get to know the young prodigy. Richards worked with the teenager when Littler guest-starred on an episode of the 19th season of ‘A League of Their Own’. While guests on the show typically benefit from some off-camera downtime with the hosts, it was in these moments that Richards was struck by Littler’s genuine charm – and an unexpected knack for rapping.. When asked about Littler behind the scenes, Richards told the Express: “You know what, you sort of forget that he is that age. He is quite shy, I think that’s his personality. But he is still very young.. “Behind the scenes, he was very entertaining. He was even doing a little bit of rapping as well. Yes, he was doing a little bit of rapping.. “It’s hard. I always think back to what I was like at that age. I was always very confident and outgoing, but he just seems very chilled, like nothing phases him at all.. When he goes down a leg, he fires in a 140 or a 180 and you are just like, ‘How is he doing this?'”. The teenager has made a huge impression on Richards, who confessed to becoming a darts fan when Littler broke out last year. Richards will have more opportunities to witness Littler in action as he prepares to defend his Bahrain Masters and Premier League Darts titles.. However, as a former England international who currently works as a pundit for Sky Sports, BBC Sport, and CBS, Richards believes the British media must tread carefully when covering Littler. He added: “What we do in the media is we build people up don’t we?. Littler certainly enjoyed himself on A League of Their Own (Image: A League of Their Own). “We speak about Phil Taylor’s record of 16 world titles. Of course he [Littler] is going to say ‘I want to beat that’ because he is so young, but he is still only 17. I think we need to take a little bit of care with him.. “Obviously, we need to celebrate what he is doing, because it is a massive achievement. But at the same time, we need to take care of him.. “When you’ve got an incredible talent like that, you want them to go on and fulfil their total potential.
