Manchester United and Manchester City both tried to sign Michael Olise from Crystal Palace at the last minute, but it appears that Bayern Munich has secured the winger. Olise, who is 21 years old, has been a highly sought-after player during this summer’s transfer window, with many Premier League teams showing interest in him. Chelsea were strongly connected, but on Friday night it became known that they had dropped their interest, with Bayern Munich now leading the way to sign the French U21 international. According to The Mirror, both Manchester United and Manchester City have now made their own efforts to acquire Olise. The player has received offers from two clubs towards the end of the transfer window for a potential move next summer, as both clubs are worried about financial constraints in the Premier League. Manchester United’s position on Luke Shaw’s fitness is becoming a cause for concern. Erik ten Hag has identified three potential alternatives to Michael Olise for Manchester United in the transfer market, as they make a £60 million decision. According to the report, due to the Premier League’s Profitability and Sustainability rules, Erik ten Hag will have a maximum budget of £50 million to spend in the upcoming transfer window. They were unable to acquire Olise this summer unless they were able to generate additional revenue from significant player transfers. Palace has established a price range of £60-70 million for the player. However, they have agreed to Olise’s wish to compete in the Champions League, despite him declining an offer from Chelsea to extend his contract at Selhurst Park last year. Despite suffering from injuries that caused him to miss some games last season, Olise was still able to score 10 goals and assist six times in 19 Premier League matches. He has been included in Thierry Henry’s initial France squad for the upcoming Olympic games in Paris. If he transfers to Bayern Munich, Olise would be playing alongside former Man City defender Vincent Kompany, who recently took over as the club’s new manager.
