Kieran Maguire and Stefan Borson believe it is improbable that Manchester City and the Premier League will come to an agreement before the 115 charges are addressed. City is accused of not supplying precise financial data and not cooperating with investigations covering nine seasons from 2009/10 to 2017/18. The club has refuted any allegations of misconduct and an independent panel will review the case later this year. During an episode of the ‘We’re Not Really Here’ podcast on BBC Radio Manchester, football finance expert Maguire and lawyer Borson, who previously worked as a financial adviser at the Etihad Stadium, were asked if there was a possibility of reaching a settlement before the hearing. Man City have six young players from their academy who are potential debutants for the upcoming season. Maguire stated that it would result in significant cost savings for both parties. It is possible that both sides could see it as a success, but considering how the public, media, and other clubs might react, it is unlikely that the Premier League or Manchester City would find it acceptable. Borson also mentioned that it could happen in accordance with the rules of the Premier League. I believe they no longer have the opportunity to reach a settlement. Since it is now known to the public and the hearing is approaching, it is highly improbable for them to reach a political agreement to resolve this.
