Alan Shearer points out England tactical flaws against Denmark with Man City point

Alan Shearer expressed concerns about John Stones and Phil Foden’s positions on the England team following their performance against Denmark. The Three Lions played to a 1-1 draw in their Euro 2024 Group C match in Germany on Thursday night. Harry Kane opened the scoring for England, but Morten Hjulmand equalized for Denmark. England’s upcoming final group match will be against Slovenia next Tuesday. Almost certain advancement to the round of 16 is guaranteed, however, there have been worries about the approach taken by Gareth Southgate, the manager of the England national team. Shearer expressed his disapproval of England’s tactics in the match against Denmark. He compared how Stones and Foden have been used by Pep Guardiola at Manchester City to their performances for England at Euro 2024 up to now. “Man City’s domination proves there is no chance for their opponents, Southgate suggests and challenges others to step up.” Man City are approaching a deadline for a £100 million transfer. During an interview on BBC Sport, Shearer mentioned John Stones as a case in point. How often do you observe him receiving the ball and advancing into midfield, or receiving the ball with his back to the Man City team and turning?
