A flipped-over semi-truck accident has closed parts of a major Calgary thoroughfare in the city’s northeast on Sunday afternoon.

A spokesperson for the Calgary Police Service said the transport truck lost control at around 2 p.m. In a social media post on X, YYC Transportation said the incident was blocking the eastbound lanes of Country Hills Boulevard and Deerfoot Trail Northeast.

Fire hazmat crews were on scene cleaning up after the collision caused the truck to spill fuel onto the road, along with dairy products that poured out of the trailer when it fell over.
