Manchester United need to find a buyer for their forgotten man after academy breakthrough

Lately, the Manchester United bench has been like a daycare center due to the numerous injuries, putting Erik ten Hag in a difficult situation with limited options. Among the children, there has been at least one person with previous experience, talking on the sidelines and giving advice while they warm up, but rarely actually playing. What has occurred with Christian Eriksen?. The 32-year-old has not played in eight of the last nine games as he was benched as a substitute. In the last two matches, Ten Hag has fielded four central midfielders, but he has not utilized the Denmark international in any of these games. In the matches against Manchester City and Everton, Scott McTominay has been included in the starting lineup while Sofyan Amrabat has been used as a substitute. As Mason Mount nears a comeback from injury, Eriksen’s opportunities are expected to diminish. Out of the last nine games, he only started on the bench for one, which was the 2-1 loss to Fulham where he played for 37 minutes. Additionally, United is keeping an eye on two Premier League players as part of their recruitment strategy. United have a widely discussed issue that even Ten Hag cannot solve.
